Important Camp Changes for 2025:
We will be implementing a lottery system this year for our summer camp registration. We received feedback that our previous registration process was becoming too competitive, thus moving to a lottery system will help us become more equitable and inclusive as well as allow for more families the opportunity to experience camp. In turn, we are committed to improving the overall access to camp; therefore, we increased the total number of spots to 175.
You may register for the lottery between Friday, February 21 and Friday, March 7.
Please Note: The registration period does not guarantee your child a spot in camp, but rather puts their name into our lottery system for each week they are registered.
Each child will need to be registered for each week(s) of camp or at least the week(s) they want to attend. There will be a lottery for each week.
After the enrollment period ends, we will randomly select campers. Once all of the weeks are full, we will contact families who can either accept or decline their spot(s) in camp. If declined, we will select another camper off the waitlist. If accepted, we will arrange for camp payment at that time.
If one child is chosen for a week, their sibling(s) will also be chosen for same week. However, each child will need to register for that specific week in order to be eligible.
You will be notified by Friday, March 14 whether your child was selected for any of the weeks or if they were placed on the waitlist.
If you miss the lottery registration period altogether, you will be added to the bottom of the waitlist.
Before Care will be available every day from 8:00 - 9:00 am at a cost of $15 per week. Aftercare is available every day from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at a cost of $15 per week. You will be able to register for both at a later date. Before or After Care will be available to all paid campers.
All other aspects of camp will remain the same as years prior. Our goal is to continue to provide your children with the best overall camp experience possible.
Please make sure your child's school grade is updated in the system before registering reflecting the grade they will be entering in the fall.
Camp is open to Aberdeen residents' children who are entering first grade in the fall through entering ninth grade in the fall. If you go to the Matawan-Aberdeen School District, but do not specifically live in Aberdeen Township (Aberdeen, Cliffwood or Cliffwood Beach) then you are not eligible to attend camp.
Camp will be Parent/Guardian drop off/pick up only and is held at the Matawan Aberdeen Middle School and Guisti Park for some of our outdoor camp activities.
