Children grades 1-4 will learn the fundamental skills of soccer, including dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. Players will be taught through structured activities, fun games, and scrimmages.

Matches are determined by age, weight and experience. Cedar Grove wrestlers will be participating in the Twin County Wrestling league with matches held on Saturdays. There is also a Tri-County League that children will be able to qualify for with wrestle-offs, this is a Travel league Singlets and will be given out at the beginning of the season. Any individual tournament/match entered by oneself, outside of the ones scheduled through the Recreation Dept., is not covered by the Township of Cedar Grove.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:
Our Junior Wrestling program relies on the support of our wrestling families to help make the season a success! Parent volunteers are needed throughout the season to assist with weigh-ins, concessions, match set-up and break-down, and other program needs.
Families who are unable or prefer not to volunteer, may opt to pay a $75 non-volunteer fee per child enrolled in the program.
Your time and support help us provide the best possible experience for all of our wrestlers, and we greatly appreciate everyone who pitches in.

Kinetic Kidz, is an 8-week gross/fine motor skills class for ages 2-4 with their care giver, will include a series of warm ups, across the floor and introduction of a movement theme. Kinetic Kidz is based on the four elements of dance: Body, Space, Time and Force. This class will mentor caregivers on how to incorporate more movement-based activities within their toddler’s days. (One care giver per child is required). What to wear: Comfortable clothes with sneakers.

Creative Movement, is an introduction to dance.  The class teaches the basics of self-expression through movement, visualization and audio associations.  With the use of props and music, the children will explore the 4 elements of creative dance: body, space, force and time.  This class will include a series of warm ups, across the floor and introduction of a movement theme. This class will also enhance balance; coordination, musicality and future develop motor skills. What to wear: Comfortable clothes with sneakers. Ballet slippers may also be worn.

Music Theater, is an 8-week course will introduce the students to acting, singing, and dancing and the world of musical theatre. They will focus on learning the terminology of the theatre, creating a character, vocalization, creative writing and choreography. For the acting segment of this class, we will focus on improvisation, as we free each actor of their inhibitions. Acting is important for children of all ages, as it strengthens their self-esteem. At the end of the 8-week course we will have a showing of the work we have accomplished.

Bus will depart from the Cedar Grove Municipal Building parking lot promptly at 9:30am (525 Pompton Ave. CG)

Other Information:

• This show has limited registration
• Program registration will open to Cedar Grove residents first, after October 23, non-residents will be able to purchase tickets.
• All tickets will be given out on the bus the day of the event
• Any child attending must be able to sit on the bus seat without assistance. Meaning no lap sitting on bus, no car seats, no boosters, etc. Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket and must sit on a lap at the show.

PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS PROGRAM UNLESS YOU ARE NOT TRYING OUT FOR TRAVEL OR DO NOT MAKE A TRAVEL BASKETBALL TEAM!!!

DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS IS OCTOBER 20th at 4:30pm

Children that are interested in trying out for a Suburban TRAVEL BASKETBALL TEAM, Gr. 5-8, this coming 2026-27 season, should attend these tryouts. You MUST attend ONE tryout, but BOTH are highly recommended.

The tryouts will be conducted by outside evaluators.

Please remember that this is a competitive league and if your child makes a Suburban team, they are not always subject to equal playing time in games.
