Clay is one of the oldest mediums, dating back to the Prehistoric Age, that was used for expression and function. In this workshop students will be encouraged to research their heritage and express their culture through clay. They will learn the science of pottery, hand building techniques and historical decorative applications to create their visual autobiography. We will celebrate their works of art with a collaborative presentation and 
discussion. This program was brought to you by Arts for Learning WNY. Local Artist Cassie Argeros will be teaching the techniques behind clay sculpting.

Join us at the Youth Bureau where you can make your own soap bars and create salt paintings!  We will have fun colors, essential oils, and fun props to put in the soap, and canvas for your salt watercolor portrait.

Students will learn and put into practice several types of painting techniques such as brush, sponge and splatter. Students will learn about color mixing and blending to get the desired "milky way" effect in their finished piece. This program was brought to you by Arts for Learning WNY. Local Artist Kelly Betschen will be teaching the techniques for painting.

Taking care of young children is an important responsibility!  This course will help you learn what you need to know to be the best and most responsible babysitter you can be.  Participants will learn about the business of babysitting, how to care for infants and toddlers and several first aid skills.  Each student receives a babysitter manual to take home.  A certificate of completion from the Red Cross will be provided after conclusion of the class.  Please bring a lunch and drink.

This course is designed for children ages 7-13. The course will cover home alone principles and safety precautions such as: answering the door and phone safety, 911 calls, house safety, fire safety, internet safety, and much more! Students will be fully engaged during the class through role playing and safety first jeopardy. Students will receive a certificate of completion and a bag of safety resources.  If taken with Basic First Aid, a discounted rate is given.  Register for COMBO if taking both.

The course will cover basic first aid skills including: scene safety, use of personal protective equipment, treatment of burns, cuts, sprains, breathing emergencies, treatment of bee stings and insect bites and more! Students will receive a certificate of completion and a compact first aid kit.  If taken with Home Alone Safety Course, a discounted rate is given.  Register for COMBO if taking both.
