Have your child join other enthusiastic chess players of all levels for a five-day intensive training camp under US Chess Federation certified chess coach and tournament director Rob Fusco. Kids will enjoy delving into the intricacies and subtleties of chess through a tried and proven curriculum while reinforcing established positive traits like teamwork and sportsmanship! they are sure to emerge from this course ready to beat mom or dad and, if they choose, compete in sanctioned chess federation tournaments. Confidence building has never been more fun!
Students are required to bring lunch, snacks and drinks for the day. All Chess materials will be supplied by Coach Rob.
This camp is for the students who can't get enough of bugs, birds, binoculars and all things biology. From decomposers to dragonflies, we will explore the living and nonliving environment right in Clifton Park's Open Space. Participants will be taught standard field biology practices, including starting and maintaining an observation journal, using field guides, responsibility collecting specimens, and experimental design and field data collections.

Not So Common Kids is an educational experience for students between ages 8-15 who are eager, motivated, and focused. Students will spend their day participating in classes with professionally trained actors and musicians. Students will learn, practice and imporve their skills in acting, singing, movement and improvisation. Students will participate as actors and stage crew in Singin' in the Rain, Jr.
They will learn about the process of producing a musical and present their finished product in a live outdoor performance on the Clifton Common stage on the evenings of July 20 & July 21 at 5:00p.m. - weather permitting.

This program will provide an opportunity for younger students to expand their creative interest in LEGO building elements while peaking their technological curiosity. Instructors will introduce the fundamentals of strong construction and programming, while also allowing for students to learn through experimentation and gentle guidance. The students' experience will culminate in a final challenge that integrates complex building skills and basic programming. The iconic-based EV3 Education software, combined with the planned curriculum, creates a fun, fast-paces and exciting introduction to robotics.
The enrichment program will provide young learners with an opportunity to explore several aspects of gaming and computer programming while creating a variety of digital media including stories, games, greeting cards, interactive art, music & dance, Makey Makey Invention kit, and more. The computer software used is an iconic-based program called SCRATCH that was developed at MIT to teach young children coding technique in an easy to understand and captivating manner.
Parents, have your children discover the adventure of a lifetime! Clifton Park's Adventure Challenge Course is designed to be a thrilling and fulfilling learning experience. Cooperative teaming creates a safe environment for a while new world of excitement. Non-competitive games, cooperative problem solving, and the low and high ropes course are the principal activities used to make this experience memorable.
