Bus Tour to the Erie Canal
Bus Tour to the Erie Canal

Join Historian John Scherer on a bus trip to explore the Erie Canal and celebrate the 200-year Erie Canal Celebration. First stop at the Chittenango Landing Canal Museum to see how canal boats were made, visit a full-size replica of a canal boat, and watch a blacksmith demonstration. After a lunch at Warner's Service Area (lunch on your own ), the next stop is The Camillus Erie Canal Park, where we’ll take a boat ride on a two-mile stretch of the original Erie Canal, passing over the restored 1844 Nine Mile Creek Aqueduct. Exhibits in the adjoining restored Sims Country Store feature maps, early photographs, and models of locks, aqueducts, and canal boats.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

$60/person fee includes admission to both museums, and travel. Lunch will be on your own at Warner's Rest Area.

Bus will depart from Town Hall at 7:30 a.m. and will return at approximately 7:30 p.m.
