A catamaran (a sailboat with two hulls) or ocean kayak to be kept on our beach for the summer season. Show proof of state registration, pay rental fee and file paperwork with Borough.  Catamarans can be trailered to the designated area and trailers removed from Borough property.  Each Catamaran must ne capable of being actively sailed.  Catamarans must be chained to the assigned post for weather conditions when on the beach.
Only 15 Catamarans will be permitted in the designated area on a first come first serve basis.

This program is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! 

You do NOT need to be a member of the Deal Casino to join!

DATES

• Monday, June 29th - Wednesday, August 5th
• Saturday June 13th & Sunday June 14th, 10AM-12PM:  Uniform Fitting at the Deal Casino 
  • Please stop by during this time to try on uniforms and provide us with your size.  If you are unable to attend, please email your child's Speedo size to Coach Lexi at lexilewis10@gmail.com
  • We will be located outside the lifeguard office, behind the snack bar

REQUIREMENTS

• Ages 5-14 (as of June 29th)
• Ages 5-7:  MUST be able to INDEPENDENTLY swim breaststroke for 12 meters AND freestyle for 25 meters; backstroke is recommended but not required
• Ages 8-14:  MUST be able to INDEPENDENTLY swim breaststroke, freestyle, AND backstroke for 25 meters
• THIS IS NOT A SWIM LESSON PROGRAM.  The expectation is that your child can already independently meet these requirements.  If you are not sure that your child can do it, please email Coach Lexi at lexilewis10@gmail.com to set up a time PRIOR TO JUNE 13TH for her to observe them in the water.

NOTE:  Registrations AFTER June 13th will not have their swimsuits ordered until June 29th, so they may not be received before the first swim meet.  We will get them for you as fast as possible, though!

DOLPHIN SWIM ACADEMY

CLASS TIMES:  EVERY TUESDAY & THURSDAY from JUNE 30th– AUGUST 6th

Morning Sessions: 9:00AM - 9:45AM

Evening Sessions:  6:00PM - 6:45PM

DOLPHIN SWIM ACADEMY DETAILS

• Conover & Casino Members ages 3+
• The program is led and developed by a highly qualified head instructor and the aquatics director, with experience teaching and facilitating various well-known swim lesson programs.  The Dolphin Swim Academy has been designed with the needs of our members and our unique aquatic facility in mind.
• On the first day of class, your child will be assessed in the water and placed into an appropriate level, as follows:
  • BLUE:  Child can NOT swim independently; must be held by adult in pool; cannot go fully underwater; can blow bubbles with face submerged; cannot yet float independently on stomach or back
  • WHITE:  Child can fully submerge head underwater and is ready to swim independently; can make alternating arm and/or leg movements indicating a readiness to swim doggy-paddle or freestyle; can float independently or with little support on stomach and/or back
  • GOLD:  Child can fully submerge head; can swim independently, with some support, showing alternating arm and leg movements; can jump in off the side and return to the top independently
• Throughout the course, your child will be assessed on these skills and may moved between levels, as deemed appropriate by the head instructor.

NOTE:  There are NO REFUNDS.  If classes are canceled due to weather conditions, you will NOT be refunded.

DATES:  Tuesdays & Thursdays, July 7th - July 30th

TIME:  9:15AM-9:45AM

LOCATION:  Deal Casino Pool

PARTICIPANT AGES:  One grown-up (age 18+) to be in the water the entire class, AND one child (infant through age 4)

FEE:  $125 one-time, non-refundable registration fee

You must register EACH child, and have ONE ADULT PER CHILD in the water for duration of the entire class.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARDING ~ 2026

The Borough of Deal is participating in Monmouth County’s USLA Chapter of Junior Lifeguards for our 9th straight season!  The team is open to anyone from any town, ages 6-16!

The Junior Lifeguarding team is a diverse group of kids and teenagers all looking to “wet their feet'' in the world of lifeguarding.  Instructed by dynamic coaches, including Deal beach lifeguards, team members learn the fundamentals of lifeguarding, along with principles of physical fitness and important teamwork skills.  Practices include a mixture of skill drills, fitness activities, and fun games to keep our team members motivated, engaged, and encouraged!

SCHEDULE:  Mondays through Thursdays, June 29th-July 23rd, 10:00AM-11:30AM, in exception to tournament dates (listed below)

PARTICIPATION FEE:  $200 per child (this is a one-time, non-refundable fee); should your child choose to participate in any of the competitions, you will pay an additional amount per competition, which goes directly to the hosting beach

TOURNAMENTS:  All junior lifeguards will be invited to attend any applicable tournaments.  THERE IS NO PRACTICE IN DEAL ON TOURNAMENT DAYS! 

NO PRACTICE ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:

• Tuesday, July 7th:  Spring Lake (ages 9+)
• Thursday, July 9th:  Long Branch (ages 9+)
• Tuesday, July 14th:  Ocean Grove (Ages 6-13)
• Thursday, July 16th:  Belmar (9+, possibly ages 6-8 too)
• Thursday, July 23rd:  Manasquan (ages 9+)

SAVE THE DATE:  Tuesday, July 21st, Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Sea Girt.  There WILL be practice in Deal on this day!
