You will need the following for your child:
1) street hockey stick
2) ice hockey helmet with face mask
3) shin guards - any type of light weight shin guards, soccer shin guards work very well.
4) optional - any type of light weight gloves (examples: hockey gloves, work gloves, baseball batting gloves)
