Nourish your natural creativity with pumpkins, natures flora and all- natural glue. This environmentally conscious workshop taps into sustainable creativity. Utilizing nature as our medium. A fun and analogous welcoming to the fall season. Your pumpkin can be left outside for the animal to nibble while also enjoying it as a decorative art piece. All supplies and 1 pumpkin will be provided

All participants will be provided two scalloped seashells. A variety of design printed napkins
will be offered along with any personal napkins provided by individual participant. Shells will
be finished with treasure gold paint trim and pearl for a beautiful jewelry holder, candy dish
or hanging ornament. All supplies provided.

During the First Session we will be exploring materials, types of brushes and papers.  You will be introduced to a variety of painting techniques including wet on wet, dry brush, salt, crayon resist, splatter, sponge and scratch resist. 

The  Second session consists of a Watercolor Paper Weaving using the knowledge of the techniques previously taught in session one. 

During the  third session we will create a Creative Color Wheel Abstract Still Life utilizing color mixing skills to create primary , primary into secondary and tertiary, neutrals in a simple shapes still life. You will learn color intensity with complements, monochromatic tints and shades. This series is for the absolute beginner but all are welcome to join us. 

 *Please bring an inexpensive watercolor pad 8x10 or 9x12 for practice. All other materials will   be provided by instructor.

Basic Block Printing - Holiday Cards Edition

Saturday December 5  1-4pm

Join us for this workshop where we will hand print cards for the coming holiday season!  We will review the basics of block printing, including preparing designs, carving blocks, and exploring color choices, before printing with water-based inks on paper.  Our cards will be sized 5.5 x 4.25”, which will fit in standard, invitation-sized envelopes.

Instructor will demonstrate all phases of this project as we go, including how to safely  use carving tools.  You will leave the session with your printed cards and carved blocks.   This class is perfect for beginners, as well as those with printmaking experience.  All  materials, with the exception of envelopes, will be provided by the instructor.  We will  be using non-toxic, water-based inks and non-latex, 4x6” carving blocks.  Please bring  simple sketches or photos of objects to use as reference for your image(s).  Printmaking  is a messy process, so bring an apron or wear old clothing!

Just in time for the festive season, join us to create a vibrant 3D star ornament! You’ll learn how to layer and blend rich, oil-based Polychromos pencils on toned gray paper to achieve depth and dimension. All supplies will be provided.
