The Ulster County Office for the Aging (OFA) senior lunch program provides a place where seniors can meet for a low-key, social gathering and a warm, nutritious meal. Meals are now provided by "Brooklyn Kitchen." Read their interesting history here. OFA operates five Community Cafés throughout the county.

This program is open to Ulster County seniors 60 years and older.

Reservations and registration are required for this program. For meal reservations, please call 845-443-8836.

The recommended voluntary contribution for a Community Café meal is $3.00 per meal. Guests under the age of 60 are asked to pay the full price of the meal which is $11.04.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention with Martha Cheo

A relatively short and simple sequence of movements safe for people with arthritis and other physical limitations.  Research has shown this program helps relieve arthritis pain and prevent falls. New students are welcome to join anytime. FREE

Have you, or a senior you know, ever thought about attending the Thursday Community Café Lunch at the New Paltz Community Center? 

Now would be a great time to take advantage of this wonderful service! 

With the uncertainty of federal funding, the Ulster County Office of the Aging needs more attendees, otherwise they will be compelled to move this beloved event elsewhere. Current attendees are an easy-going and welcoming bunch, as is Tiffany, the hostess and server.

The Senior Citizens Club of New Paltz and Gardiner is a group of seniors from the local communities that come together on the second Wednesday of the month at the community center to socialize, be entertained or be informed on many different subjects. We have an annual picnic in June at the Field of Dreams and a Holiday celebration in December. We have two bus trips a year for lunch and some form of entertainment. We also meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month for lunch or breakfast at various local restaurants.

Second Wednesday of every month from 2:00 to 4:00pm. (Community Center)

We are a group of seniors who get together weekly to socialize, share, request and/or offer help to our fellow members.

Tuesdays from 10:00 to 11:30pm. (Community Center)

We had a lovely trip to the Orange County Arboretum. We first planned the trip in the spring but got rained out. When we finally went in June, we found at the garden remnants of bulbs and newly planted annuals. When we return again, we will go earlier in the year to see the blooming spring bulbs or wait until the late summer when the annuals have grown in. 

We enjoyed lunch at Gardiner's Bakehouse after.

Our annual Senior Holiday Lunch sponsored by the Town of New Paltz took place on December 19th. Main Course of New Paltz catered the delicious food. Lunch participant Willie Lee provided the magic tricks.
