Beach Access Points: Convenient locations for beachgoers to enjoy the beautiful coastline, with easy access to the sand and surf.                                 

RESTROOOM FACILITY LOCATIONS 

Portable or permanent restroom facilities are available at the following Beach Access Locations:

The Point (end of W Beach Drive), Kings Lynn Drive Cabana (SE 46th street), 14th Place East Oak Island Pier Complex (705 Ocean Drive), Barbee Blvd and Middleton Park Complex (4610 E Dolphin Drive)                                                                                                                                               

MOBI-MAT & HANDICAP PARKING LOCATIONS

The Town of Oak Island currently has nine (9) designated Handicap Assist Locations, which include Mobi-mats provided through a combination of funding from the Town and community partners.

Keziah Street, 705 Ocean Drive (Pier Complex), SE 74th Street, SE 55th Street, SE 40th Street, 19th Place East, 10th Place West, 27th Place West and 57th Place West.                                                                                                                                                                                                   -

RAMPS, GAZEBO, & VIEWING PLATFORM LOCATIONS 

In addition to Mobi-mats and handicap assist locations, the Town has also provided several hardened ramp structures, which provide either a viewing platform, gazebo, or restroom access. 

Access Structures can be found in the following Beach Access Locations:

Mercer Street (Ramp), Oak Island Pier (Ramp + Restroom + Mobi-Mat), Cabana at SE 46th Street (Ramp + Restroom), 10th Place West (Ramp + Gazebo + Mobi-mat) and 57th Place West (Ramp + Viewing Platform)

  • Parks and Recreation Facilities: Offering outdoor spaces for relaxation, sports, and community activities, including playgrounds, picnic areas, and trails.
  • Emergency Access Locations: Strategically located for first responders to quickly reach and assist in case of emergency, ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors.
  • Paid Parking Areas: Designated parking spaces at prime locations throughout Oak Island, allowing for easy access to popular spots and convenience for those visiting the beach and local attractions.
  • Pedestrian Walkovers: Safe crossings for pedestrians to reach the beach, designed to protect both individuals and the local environment by minimizing dune damage.
  • Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) Navigation Routes: Specifically marked routes for Low-Speed Vehicles to navigate the island, providing accessible transportation options.
  • Flood Hazard Zones: Areas marked to identify flood-prone locations, providing vital information for safety during adverse weather conditions and ensuring that residents are prepared.
  • Pedestrian and Bicycle Navigation Pathways: Designated walking and cycling routes that promote healthy, eco-friendly transportation options throughout the island, connecting key locations with ease.
