The Oak Island Nature Center and Ocean Education Center are looking for new volunteers as we approach opening season! The Nature Center and Ocean Education Center are two centers located on the island that provide hands-on, educational opportunities to participants. Whether it is learning about the birds of Brunswick County or the sharks that live in the waters beyond, the centers aim to provide a fun, engaging, and informative environment. The Oak Island Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to help provide safety and support for special events such as concerts, markets, festivals, and other large events that we put on! If you like to be involved in the community, meet new people, and be engaged with town events, then this is the perfect opportunity. Volunteers for Special Events will assist in tasks such as crowd control, event management, and overall helping to provide a great time for themselves and others.
