Come and join Oak Island's Recreation Department as we go off the island once more to explore a new location in the Cameron Art Museum. Hosting a unique setting of art, sculptures, and scenery, this excursion is sure to be lots of fun, especially for those that love art and artistic exhibits. There is a cafe located on site with several options for food, as well as a lovely campus surrounding the museum to walk around and explore. Lunch is not included as a part of program fees. The time of this excursion will take place from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM, with us leaving from the parking lot of the Oak Island Recreation Center at 9:30 AM. Discover how wine is made from grape to bottle at Duplin Winery. Travelers will enjoy a decadent lunch at the on site bistro, followed by a behind the scenes tour of one of the east coast’s largest wine making operations. At the conclusion of the tour, participants will get to sample at least ten preselected Duplin wines while a guide shares insight through the flavors and history of each wine. Registration fees will not include lunch, participants will be responsible for their individual lunch tabs. This program is not eligible for refunds, transfers, or credits. Must be 21 years or older to attend. The time of the excursion will be from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Join Oak Island Recreation for a trip over to the neighboring Southport to check out the Maritime Museum, in addition to a day out on the town at Southport! The North Carolina Maritime Museum was voted one of the best attractions in Southport by newcomers and frequent visitors alike, boasting lots of history and preserved antiques for any coastal lover who wants to dive into the fascinating history and culture that this region supplies in abundance. The trip will take place from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM, and we will be taking off from the Recreation Center parking lot at 9:30 AM. Lunch will not be provided as a part of the fee, but there will be opportunities to eat at whatever place you may choose in Southport.
