Come and join Oak Island Recreation as we travel out to the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, a Smithsonian affiliate that contains tons of great information and history about the area we live in. Discover the past, explore the area’s culture, and meet Wilmington's oldest resident a 20-foot-tall giant ground sloth, and many more exciting things at North Carolina’s first history museum. We will be stopping to eat at New Day Cafe in Leland before arriving at the museum, a casual, comfort food restaurant where participants are able to purchase a lovely brunch. The excursion will take place from 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM, with the possibility of arriving back earlier depending on time spent in the museum.

Come and join Oak Island Recreation as we travel out to the Wilmington Railroad Museum, full of rich history and awesome displays. Preserving the history of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and Southeastern American railroading since 1979, enjoy interactive displays and model trains that are fun and educational for all ages. We will be stopping to eat prior to visiting the museum at Bagels on Pointe in Downtown Wilmington, where participants are able to purchase their own wonderful bagel creations. The excursion will take place from 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM, with the possibility of arriving back earlier depending on time spent in the museum.
