Instructors from the Independent Health YMCA will offer a free one hour pilates class every Friday starting June 6th - August 29th from 10-11 am at our beautiful Main St. Park (near the pond/band shelter area).  Registration is not needed.  Bring your own mat, water, etc.

This is for boys and girls are entering grades 7-9. It will be a pick up format, where we choose team and play. Recreation Staff will officiate and supervise. Think you have what it takes to make a boat that can actually float? In this program we are exploring buoyancy, gravity, lift, force plus engineering and creativity skills. Participants will be challenged to take what they learn about how sailboats work, then build their own boats that we then set sail to find the best designs. This program is offered twice over the summer, one session is in July and one session is in August. Both sessions are the exact same. ALL SUPPLIES PROVIDED

Due to the overwhelming support we get from our youth volunteers in the community, we have decided to offer free programming on Fridays for ages 12 - 18.  Each Friday will be a different type of craft/project for the participants to make.  These classes will have an instructor but will mostly be self-led.  Feel free to sign up with your friends to relax and craft. This course is designed for children ages 6-14. The course will cover home alone principles and safety precautions such as: answering the door and phone safety, 911 calls, house safety, fire safety, internet safety, and much more! Students will be fully engaged during the class through role playing and safety first jeopardy. Students will receive a certificate of completion and a bag of safety resources.  If taken with Basic First Aid, a discounted rate is given.  Register for COMBO if taking both.

Crafts and activities will be centered around a nature theme. Participants should be dropped off and picked up at the Thompson Road entrance to the Nature Center. Children will be met and escorted to and from the Nature Center by Recreation Staff Members.
