This program is designed for youngsters in 1st through 4th grade.  The purpose of this league is to have fun and learn the basic fundamentals skills of field hockey.  The season will begin in early September and run through the last Sunday in October.  Practices will be held on Tuesday and/or  Wednesday evenings between 6:00 -7:15 pm and games on Sundays between 12:00 - 4:30pm.  Participants must attend at least one practice session per week to play in a weekend game.   No Field Hockey experience necessary!  Uniforms will be paid for separately and ordered through the online store.  Participants must provide their own shin guards, mouth guard, water bottle, and field hockey stick (limited supply available for loan).  Order your uniform (top & bottom), and any additional fan gear by August 1st, directly at

The Metuchen Junior Field Hockey program has expanded to include a travel program for rising 5th graders - 8th graders.  This is an instructional field hockey league, with a low level of competition and strong focus on skill development.  We will participate in the Mid Jersey Field Hockey League.  Tentative league participants include:  Berkeley Heights, Branchburg, Chatham, Fanwood, Glen Ridge, Hillsborough, Hunterdon, Long Hill, Madison, Millburn, Morristown, Scotch Plains, Union Township, Verona, West Caldwell.  The season runs from early-September to late-October with practices on Tuesday's evenings from 7:15pm to 9:00pm.  Games are held on Sunday afternoons with home games in Metuchen and away games held in the corresponding towns.  Transportation to and from games and practices is the responsibility of the parents/guardians.  Uniforms will be ordered and purchased separately by the parents.  Order your uniform (tops & bottoms) and fan gear by August 1st.
