This course incorporates different types of activity – chair, standing, low intensity aerobics, weight training with weights and resistance bands, and balance exercises.

Good for all fitness levels. Bring water and 1-3 lbs. weights

Dr. Jeffrey Poplarski presents an 8-week Titleist Performance Golf Fitness Screening to enhance your golf game. The TPI certified instructor will screen each participant individually to determine swing faults, addressing posture, lower and upper body mobility and stability, balance and power. This program will target golf swing analysis and golf body mechanics.  The first class will consist of an evaluation of swing and body imbalances.  The remainder of the program will address any faults that are noticed.  Dr. Jeff does not believe there is one way to swing a club; he believes there are an infinite number of ways to swing a club. But he does believe that there is one efficient way for all golfers to swing a club and it is based on what you can do physically.

 

Dr. Jeff is the Wellness Director for the U.S. Open Golf Championships, Titleist Performance Golf Fitness Instructor, Medical Professional, Junior Coach, Golf Coach, and a “First Swing” golf instructor for the Eastern Amputee Golf Association.

Improve your body awareness and reinforce healthy movement patterns.

This mixture of exercise consists of low impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements. Emphasis placed on proper alignment, core strength and muscle balance. A typical stretch includes a number of exercises and stretches with attention to proper breathing techniques and abdominal muscle control.

Participants are asked to bring an exercise mat to class and a small towel and water.

All exercise levels are welcome to join.

Southold Town Park Passport Parks & Trail Guide Now Available
Hike Trails, Collect Badges, Win a Prize - Deadline is September 30, 2021

The Southold Town Park Passport is here and it’s a great way to discover the parks and trails, some of the Town’s most beautiful natural spaces. Participants are invited to take the Park Passport Challenge to enter a prize drawing for a gift card to Magic Fountain Ice Cream.

As hikers explore the designated trails, they will find a kiosk with a badge to affix in the Park Passport Booklet. Hike all seven trails included in the booklet, collect all seven badges, and submit the booklet to the Recreation Department by September 30, 2021 to be entered into the prize drawing.

Park Passports are available at several locations through the Town, including the outdoor kiosk at Southold Town Recreation Center in Peconic, and the Southold Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall.

Registration is not required, but a completed Park Passport must be received in the Southold Town Recreation Department by 3:30 p.m. on September 30, 2021.

Shape up to a stronger, healthier, leaner body with TABATA!

Tabata is 20 seconds of exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated for 8 sets.

Each Tabata set is just 4 minutes long, but with bursts of low intensity exercises.

This workout program combines hand held weights, resistance bands and effective aerobic moves to tone and strengthen all muscle groups while increasing flexibility, coordination and strength. Tabata workouts are safe and effective.

Please bring hand held weights(2-5lbs.), light-medium resistance band to class and water.

All ages and exercise levels are welcome to join.
