A guided hike to Forked River Mountain. The Recreation Bus will leave Gille Park from the parking lot adjacent to the Skate Park and Roller Hockey Rink at 10:30am. Appropriate for kids and adults, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Please dress for the weather on the day of the event. Closed toed shoes are required and precautions for ticks should be considered. There is some uneven terrain and mild change in elevation during the hike. The hike is just over one mile long and will last approximately one hour. Approximate return to Gille Park is 12:30pm. Cost: $3  

The Lacey Lakes Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st from 9am to 11:30am. 

Members of the public can volunteer at the lake of their choice. Clubs and Organizations will be assigned a location to ensure coverage. 

Bags and gloves will be supplied and there will be a limited number of grabbers available. 

Sturdy footwear is required. Dress for the weather on that day. Optional items you may wish to bring include a water bottle, hat, sunglasses, and insect repellant. 

Children must be actively supervised at all times. All participants must be at least 10 years of age.

A meeting location and check-in table will be established in or near the parking lot at each lake to obtain supplies.

March 20: National Guard Militia Museum Bus Departs at 10am Fee: $7

The National Guard Militia Museum of New Jersey tells the story of the state’s Militia and National Guard beginning with Dutch, Swedish and British colonization through the War for Independence to the Civil War, World Wars I and II and up to the present day, paying particular attention to the diversity of the New Jersey citizen soldier and his or her experience. Notably, the museum has one of the largest collections of New Jersey related Civil War research material in the country, including copies of diaries, letters, newspaper clippings, memoirs, regimental histories and articles.
