Canasta
Canasta
If you know how to play Canasta, a group meets on Tuesdays 1:00-3:00 PM. The New Paltz Canasta group uses the official rules as defined by Modern American Canasta.

This is a card game not unlike what you may have played in the past but perhaps more complicated and challenging. Many who play Canasta also play Mah Jongg as the degree of difficulty is about the same. Folks are welcome to observe these Tuesday sessions, however lessons cannot be given during or in between games. The Lifetime Learning Institute, affiliated with the New Paltz university offers a class to learn Canasta in the Spring. Those interested in learning more can refer to the book, "Modern American Canasta, The Complete Guide," by Collins and Miller-Small, or go online to ModernAmericanCanasta.com. There is also a Facebook group: ModernAmericanCanasta.
Stop by Tuesdays and see what it's all about!

Now would be a great time to take advantage of this wonderful service!

With the uncertainty of federal funding, the Ulster County Office of the Aging needs more attendees, otherwise they will be compelled to move this beloved event elsewhere. Current attendees are an easy-going and welcoming bunch. Lisa, the server, is a treasure.

Help to keep our New Paltz location!

To pre-register for the meal, call 845-331-2180. Vegetarian options are available upon request at pre-registration.
