Do you know how to play Duplicate Bridge?  Well if you do and you are looking for a game, we have you covered.  Stop down to the Peconic Community Center and introduce yourself to our Bridge group.  As this is a non-instructional gathering, you must come with the skills, but we will bring the fun.  Your first day you will come and meet the players.  Once there is an open seat, they will let you know and work you into the rotation.

Learn how to step and punch like a real boxer.

This class will teach USA Boxing fundamentals including proper stance, basic punches along with essential footwork and timing. Kick techniques will be added for a broader range of fitness training. Each class will conclude with a one-on-one round of practice with the instructor to build mental focus and punch form.

It's safe. It's active. And It's fun! 

Bring a towel and a water bottle to class.

Come join the party! Dancing is so much fun. It's also a great way to meet folks who have the same interest.

No experience is necessary. Beginner dancers will learn basic steps and dance terminology while the experienced dancers will sharpen their skills and techniques. You will learn a mix of classic oldies and current dances to both country and pop music with plenty of review each week. A list of dances will be provided in class.

Bring a water bottle with you, wear comfortable clothing and footwear. For your safety, no sandals, flip-flops or high heels, please.

Looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor.

First brought to the United States in the 1860s, this version of dominoes is easy to learn and fun to play.  Whether it is "tapping your last" or "drawing from the boneyard" this time honored game is sure to be a "hoot" or shall we say, "Toot."  Come down to the Recreation Center and let's play!

Improve your body awareness and reinforce healthy movement patterns.
This mixture of exercise consists of low impact flexibility, muscular strength and breath work. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment, core strength and muscle balance through slow movements.

Participants are asked to bring an exercise mat to class and a small towel and water.
All exercise levels are welcome to join.

Get some fresh air and exercise with this all-level strength and balance class that builds full-body stability and muscular tone. The structured, functional workout safely guides participants through exercises that improve everyday mobility.

We’ll meet at Tasker Park Pavilion and begin with stretching then target upper body, core and lower body muscles with squats, lunges, chest and arm exercises and finish with a cool down. Bring a yoga mat, hand weights, a water bottle and wear sunscreen.

In the event of rain, class will be held in the Peconic Community Center, Room 3.

This class is designed for players who are just starting to learn pickleball or who have some experience and want to improve their game. We'll cover fundamental skills like serving, returning, dinking, and volleying, as well as strategies for doubles play. Through a combination of drills, game play, and instruction, you'll develop the skills and confidence to play at a higher level. Paddles and balls will be provided.  Please wear appropriate sneakers and bring water.

Dust off those paddles or use one of ours... Friday is open recreation day for adults at the Rec Center.  Whether you call it table tennis or ping-pong, you are definitely going to have a ball.

Whether you spell it "Rummy Cube" or "Rummikub," it is sure to be a lot of fun.  Rummy Cube is a combination of Rummy and Mah Jongg, and has all the elements that make a great game. It’s easy to learn and fast moving. The “board” changes all the time as players adjust the tiles on the table. It combines luck and strategy and it changes quickly so every player has a chance to win until the very end.

Please consider bringing any donations to the donation bins at the following locations:

  • Southold Town Hall (Map)
  • Youth Bureau office in the Recreation Center (Map)

*Snacks are very welcome for all grade levels - shelf stable bulk snacks such as pretzels, granola bars, etc.*
