Line Dancing for All Levels
Line Dancing for All Levels

with DJ Lady T

Long Island has become Line Dancing Island – so come on and join the party! Line Dancing is a whole body workout, doesn’t require a partner, and it’s lots of fun.

This 5-week Program will cover beginner and intermediate dances. Beginners will learn basic steps, and dance terminology. Intermediates will get a refresher on the beginner dances and sharpen their skills on the more advanced dances.  No experience is necessary.  A list of dances will be provided at the first class. Dances will be reviewed each week. It's an evening of dancing fun!

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that provide support. No sandals, flipflops, or high heels please. You will get a workout. Bring a bottle of water with you to stay hydrated.

Pickleball Program Course & Level Description

SOUTHOLD TOWN RESIDENTS ONLY

Southold Town offers Pickleball classes for several ability levels, Beginner, Novice and Intermediate.

The Beginner level program is geared to the true newbie who has no real experience playing the game. This level will teach the student how to serve, develop a forehand, as well as scoring and some basic rules. There is no pre-requisite for participating at this level.

The Novice level program will help beginners with some experience continue to improve their skills and knowledge of the game. Emphasis will be placed on moving around the court in a balanced and safe manner, getting serves “in,” understanding the rules, score keeping, general play and improving serves, strokes and backhand. Note: participants at this level must have completed a beginner level program, or demonstrate some knowledge of the game.

The Intermediate level program is for players with experience, who understand the rules and scoring, are able to move safely around the court in a balanced and safe manner, are able to serve, volley, and use basic strokes, including backhand and forehand reasonably well. NOTE: Participants at this level must have completed a novice level program or demonstrate abilities beyond the novice level.

Our instructors will evaluate class participants to assure people are playing at the level that matches their game knowledge and skill set. Their determination will be final, and the Town reserves the right to decline a registration in an inappropriate skill level.
