Swimming lessons are a rite of passage for so many North Fork children. Our learn to swim program offers instruction to children starting at age 4, who are eligible to earn a Red Cross Certificate upon successful completion of the program.

Cost: Residents:    $60/person
Non-Residents:    $65/person

The lessons are offered in two separate two-week programs at two separate beaches:
Sessions A through F are offered at Veteran’s Memorial Beach in Mattituck starting on July 6 and finishing on July 17. 
Sessions G through L are offered at Founders Landing in Southold starting on July 20 and finishing on July 31.

Special Notice about Park District beach use: Veteran's Beach is under the jurisdiction of the Mattituck Park District and Founders Landing is under the jurisdiction of the Southold Park District. Access to these beaches requires a park district resident permit. If you are not a resident of the park district of the beach where your swim lesson is taking place, you will not be permitted to remain at the beach after your child's lesson is over for the day. The park districts provide access to these beaches for swim lessons as a courtesy to the Town. We ask all participants to respect the Mattituck Park District's and Southold Park District's rules regarding beach use. Please see a Park District Beach Attendant for the complete rules for non-park district resident use of their facilities.

Shape up to a stronger, healthier, leaner body with TABATA! 

Tabata is 20 seconds of exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest repeated for 8 sets. Each Tabata set is just 4 minutes long, but with bursts of low intensity exercises. This workout program combines hand held weights, resistance bands and aerobic moves to tone and strengthen all muscle groups while increasing flexibility, and coordination. Tabata workouts are safe and effective.

Please bring hand weights (2-5lbs.),  a light-medium resistance band and a water bottle.

All ages and exercise levels are welcome to join.

This Tai Chi program will follow the Yang Style Form 24, which is a healing martial art. In this class, you will learn about integrating mind, body, energy, and spirit, and develop internal and external strength, overall stability and balance. Get the best of both worlds with this fun and energizing outdoor class! We’ll meet at Cochran Park on Peconic Lane and walk both parks, incorporating light upper body exercises as we go. We’ll stop along the way, for simple, effective lower body movements like squats and lunges to build strength, balance, and endurance. This class is designed to be low-impact, supportive, and suitable for all fitness levels.

On days when the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll move indoors for a low-impact cardio and strength session so you’ll never miss a workout.

Enjoy fresh air, movement and a great sense of community!

Please wear sunscreen, sneakers and bring a light pair of dumbbells.

This low impact fitness class combines the benefits of aerobic walking (improved cardiovascular health, enhanced mood, better sleep and increased mobility) with weight training to build muscle strength. The one-hour class includes warmup, aerobic walking, strength training with hand weights and resistance band and cool down.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. Please bring a water bottle and hand weights (1 to 5 lbs.).

Zumba Gold is for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. It's still the same fun fitness class with high energy, low impact aerobic exercises, with fun music and dancing.

Perfect for beginners, seniors and anyone who wants to get more movement into their lives. The simple choreography is easy to follow so you can relax and enjoy your exercise routine! The program includes cardio with warm-up and cool down stretching periods at the beginning and end of the class.
