Friday , October 31, 2024 Where: Oak Island Recreation Center • 3003 East Oak Island Drive When: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Where: Oak Island Recreation Center • 3003 East Oak Island Drive Sign up to be a Trunk or Treat vendor. The Oak Island Recreation Department is trying to fill up the parking lot with people who would like to join in on the fun, passing candy out to the kids. Decorate your car and pass out candy! The Oak Island Recreation Department will be awarding a Frist, Second, and Third place winner for the best decorated car. To register to be a Trunk or Treat Vendor visit www.OakIslandNC.gov/PROGRAMS. The Oak Island Nature Center and Ocean Education Center are looking for new volunteers as we approach opening season! The Nature Center and Ocean Education Center are two centers located on the island that provide hands-on, educational opportunities to participants. Whether it is learning about the birds of Brunswick County or the sharks that live in the waters beyond, the centers aim to provide a fun, engaging, and informative environment. If you are interested in volunteering at either the Nature Center or the Ocean Education Center, you can find links below to our Volunteer Registration Form and to our Volunteer Infographic for the education centers!

The Oak Island Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to help provide safety and support for special events such as concerts, markets, festivals, and other large events that we put on! If you like to be involved in the community, meet new people, and be engaged with town events, then this is the perfect opportunity. Volunteers for Special Events will assist in tasks such as crowd control, event management, and overall helping to provide a great time for themselves and others.
