  • Classes take place the Oak Island Recreation Center, 3003 E. Oak Island Drive. Please call with any questions (910)278-5518.
  • Fees for classes will be paid at the time of the class and will need to be in cash. Exact change is preferred. Except for Pier Yoga you MUST pre-register for that class STARTING IN MAY!!

    • Mature Aerobics with Debbie: 7:30 AM, $3 Residents, $4 Non-Residents
    • Pier Yoga with rotating instructors 8:00 AM At the Oak Island Pier $15 for all Must Pre Register (starts in MAY)
    • SilverSneakers Fitness with Maggie: 9:00 AM, $4 Residents, $5 Non-Residents
    • Active Senior Yoga with Mert: 11:15 AM, $8 Residents, $10 Non-Residents
  • Tuesdays
    • SilverSneakers Fitness with Susan: 8:30 AM, $4 Residents, $5 Non-Residents
    • Active Senior Yoga with Mert: 9:30 AM, $8 Residents, $10 Non-Residents
    • Qigong With Judith: 11:30 AM, $5 for all

The gym at Oak Island Recreation Center features a wide range of fitness equipment that is available to both Town of Oak Island residents and island visitors. Fitness opportunities range from cardio equipment, free weights, weight machines, and more! Welcomed by a friendly and enthusiastic staff, the gym is open for operation 6 days a week, making it the ideal island resource for those seeking to maintain a regular workout routine.

  • Memberships for the gym do NOT include fitness classes.
  • Members must be 16 years of age or older. 16-17 year olds must have a parent of legal guardian sign an activity waiver in person at the Recreation Center prior to use of the gym at Oak Island Recreation Center. 
  • Just to note this is the Oak Island Recreation Fitness Facility, there is no pool available.
