Kayak Rental Information

  • There must be 2 staff onsite to assist with Kayak Rentals. Please call the Rec Center before arriving to ensure that is the case.  (910) 278-5518
  • Kayaks are not reserved ahead of time. They are on a first come, first served basis.
  • Renters must view Oak Island tide charts.  Kayaks can only be rented only 2 hours before & after high tide.  Annual Published Tide Tables
  • Kayaks are available for 4-hour blocks only.
  • Users must be 12 years of age or older, to occupy their own vessel.  
  • Kayaks must be dropped in at the Kayak Launch on 31st
  • Kayaks must not leave Oak Island.

Kayak Rental Fees

  • Deposit: $50.00/Refundable if all equipment is returned in the same condition, it left in. This MUST be paid in cash or by check.
  • Resident: $25.00/4 hours
  • Non-Resident: $35.00/4 hours
  • Residency is determined by a Town of Oak Island address with the renter’s name on an ID, bill, lease or deed.

Get ready to move, groove, and have fun with the Oak Island Line Dancing Club! Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just starting out, this club is the perfect place to learn new steps, enjoy great music, and meet others who love to dance. Sessions will be Every Tuesday Beginner Session (4:00 PM - 4:30 PM): New to line dancing? No problem! This session is designed for beginners, featuring simple steps and easy-to-follow routines to help you get comfortable on the dance floor. (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM): Ready for a challenge? Join us for more advanced dances with exciting choreography and a faster pace!

No need to sign up, all you need is to show up in your dancing shoes!!!

No partner is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable shoes! Whether you’re here to learn, exercise, or just have fun, the Oak Island Line Dancing Club welcomes all.

  • Flood Hazard Zones: Areas marked to identify flood-prone locations, providing vital information for safety during adverse weather conditions and ensuring that residents are prepared.
  • Pedestrian and Bicycle Navigation Pathways: Designated walking and cycling routes that promote healthy, eco-friendly transportation options throughout the island, connecting key locations with ease.
